            Bug ID: 466491
           Summary: export pages as images
    Classification: Applications
           Product: okular
           Version: 22.12.2
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: okular-devel@kde.org
          Reporter: edmund.laugas...@protonmail.ch
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Please allow export pages as images. I understand, that I can select area and
save it as PNG but in case of more pages it would be overwhelming to repeat it
with all pages. Same applies to screenshot programs - too overwhelming to
capture every page manually.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open PDF-file
2. Choose File-> Export
3. Choose image export and its options

OBSERVED RESULT
Currently no image export exist.

EXPECTED RESULT
The image export exist! There could be also choices, e.g. choose image format
and its parameters, e.g. compression (PNG), quality (JPG), SVG, TIFF, WebP,
FLIF, etc according chosen image format. Also nowadays modern image formats
could be supported, e.g.
https://ezgif.com/help/alternative-animated-image-formats - there could be one
animated image, that contains images from pages in PDF.
Also crop feature would be appreciated. Sometimes there would be useful to crop
from edges certain distance. Also separate crop parameters per odd and even
pages would be useful. Sometimes also certain pages needs to be excluded. I
guess printing dialog could be used as a basis of export to images dialog. Also
choosing, whether every page will be separate image or there will be one large
image containing all pages. Also file naming scheme would be useful to choose
during export - possibly you can use some components from KRename for that.
Also putting page number or number/numbers to defined location on image. In
case of larger amount of images numbering would be useful both in file names
and on image. There may be other ideas that I didn't remember to mention right
away. Feel free to add also them.
