Winds were light to moderate and somewhat variable but generally from the northwest. Observations: The flight was spread out somewhat with the wind remaining light enough so that only a portion of the days movement was over the lake and to the south. Surprising perhaps, or maybe not considering the season, was the considerable TV flight with todays total taking us over 70 thousand. It was nice to see that the Buteo flight has picked up again after several days of poor flight conditions. Hopefully it will continue for the next few days. The birds today remained aloft into the early evening hours even with the sharp drop in temperature. In addition to the hawks, a large movement of Tundra Swans was seen today with easily several thousand moving through the area. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ The primary site used by Southeastern Michigan Raptor Research (SMRR) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
