The openca javascript doesn't check for this error, it just ignores
responses less than 100 chars.  I put a patch for this on sourceforge, I
think it's still sitting there gathering dust.

Our (management) mistake :( We only check RFEs and bugs. I usually ignore patches and the support area completely. I see that you submitted two patches. I will check them today. Please put patches to RFE or bugs in the future.
