Alain: Each web protocol is optimized for a particular
function. You can download something using the HTTP
protocol, but it is not nearly as fast and efficient
at downloading than the FTP protocol is. Because FTP
was designed at the outset for File-Transfers (of
course). In the same vein, HTTP can stream but it
doesn't do it very well compared to protocols that are
designed explicitly for streaming.
