Hello list,

tonight I decided to look a little at my the RAZR2 V8. It turns out
that you can enter boot loader mode if you press and hold both the
'*' and '#' buttons and then turn the phone on.

The screen will display:

Bootloader
A3.C9 (probably a version string)
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable

Connect the USB cable and the Display will show "Transfer Mode: USB".
In this mode boot_usb can talk to the phone, but transfers don't seem
to succeed (I just had to add the USB ID in boot_usb).
boot_usb is able to upload the data, but at the end of the transfer the
phone returns an error.

Calling the kernel...
TX: JUMPA0DE0000BA ( 02 4a 55 4d 50 1e 41 30 44 45 30 30 30 30 42 41 03)
RX: ERR ( 02 45 52 52 1e 8d 00)
DONE

The phone displays

Critical Error:
DEA1

So it is likely that the kernel has to be signed somehow in order to
flash it. :-(

Daniel Willmann
