Mmm, I hate to sound negative but fonts under CC, when CC is only for
data/content (see this FAQ item
http://wiki.creativecommons.org/FFAQ#Can_I_license_software_using_CC_licenses.3F)
- we recognize the software nature of fonts, don't we? - and expression
like "giving away free fonts" is distant to what we have in mind for the
OFLB.

Also their first download has "copyright info pending" as the only
rights description :-(

Also I'd tend to agree with some commenters on this typophile thread,
let our code/glyphs show we can provide something of quality that they
could benefit from instead of getting on their nerves with the
rhetoric... (as true as it might be).
