If he means “free fonts” as a whole, compared to “the fonts offered by top type design foundries” as a whole, then maybe i can see that. But if he is talking about individual fonts, that just seems like a dumb statement, because there are plenty of examples of free fonts that offer better ‘quality’ than some non-free fonts from the ’top design foundries’. -v
