Laurent meant that it would be rather nice if your target would be supported not only by your high-level adapter but also by generic adapters such as bitbanging "wigglers" or slightly more intellectual MPSSE-capable (FTDI-based USB dongles) ones. AFAIK Peter thinks that using low-level silly adapters is not the right way to go but some other people still prefer them because of their price and generic applicability.
