If there was such a question, I did answer it....
Meanwhile, I am trying to discuss what makes my life hard when trying to
provide a good enough replacement while constantly things are added to Sun tar
that make the like even harder because they are based on outdated methods.

As long as James Carlson sends replies that do not look as if there is a wish 
for a collaboration, things become even harder. Do you propose, I should just
ignore his accusations?

I am willing to do any kind of collaboration, I just like to see a hint that
creates the hope for being able to prevent further "enhancements" to Sun tar 
that use methods from the past.
