Don't use TLSv1_2_client_method(), instead use either:

        SSLv23_client_method()  -- OpenSSL <= 1.0.2
        TLS_client_method()     -- OpenSSL >= 1.1.0

If you want to disable older protocol versions, do that
via the appropriate options.
