Maybe open an issue to catch this. Seems like the apps could check and redirect to /dev/null if the FD isn't valid.


Perhaps it is simpler to just accept invalid stdin if -ignoreeof is set.

In particular, this avoids dealing with OS specific names of /dev/null,
as well as chroot jails without that character device.
