I would go for one with an SD card reader. Makes development, testing & backup & recovery a bit easier, and allows you to quickly change the personality of your TomTom by just changing to another sdcard. I you think that you later would want to wire up the TomTom to other equipment then getting one with a docking port with serial connection may be beneficial. Or if you think you may go into kernel programming then highly recommended... But if you will just write apps using the gps and displaying on screen and/or recording data then any unit will do. You will however most likely need a computer with bluetooth to aid in debugging and testing your program.. Regards Henrik
