We had a corrupt index block which caused an ORA-600 which was not noticed and eventually brought down the database. We do lots of checks now. (d) All of the above.

Practically, you could just do an export to /dev/null and make sure the table data is correct. Index can be rebuilt, so it's not as important. HTH.
