"Encyclia kingsii was believed to be endemic to Little Cayman...
Carla Reid discovered Encyclia kingsii growing wild in an undisclosed
location in Grand Cayman.

Encyclia kingsii... grows on trees in dry rocky woodland areas and
produces... yellowish-brown flowers.

Encyclia kingsii is... close to extinction in the wild and its discovery in
Grand Cayman highlights the need to conserve natural areas as many of the
Cayman Islands' most rare and unique plants are on the brink of extinction.

Mrs Reid... is a member of the Cayman Islands Orchid Society"
