As a professional origami artist and author, I've been teaching
paper-folding for around 30 years, in a wide variety of situations
with students of differing ages, needs and languages. During that
time, I've built up a collection of designs that have a high chance
of success and that introduce folding techniques in a controlled,
systematic way.

The book will be 64 pages, full colour, softback (with a special
"soft-touch" cover) in A5 format, handy to fit in your pocket. It
will cover the basics of folding, symbols and then a selection of 32
models, arranged into chapters based upon their underlying sequence.
Each model builds upon the skills needed for previous models so that
your confidence and ability will progress smoothly.

In addition, I will produce a companion volume (in eBook format)
called "teaching notes". This will contain more detailed information
about teaching origami, planning lessons etc. There will also be
hints and tips for each of the models and ways in which they can be
adapted and extended. Finally it will include a bonus design for you
to learn.

I'm looking at making this companion as a pdf ebook, but wondered if
you felt it worth making hard copies as well?

I have written over 70 commercial books and diagrammed thousands of
models, but this will be my first self-published professional book.
It will be a delight not to be tied down by commercial pressures.
Income as a professional origami artist is unspectacular, so I'm
hoping Kickstarter will give me the freedom to work to my own
standards.

If this works, I have a series of further books I would like to
produce, including an "Alice in Wonderland" and "Pet Lovers Origami".

More news when the project is ready to launch ;)
