Nelson Goodson March 22, 2011 Brownsville, Texas - On Sunday, Cameron County District Attorney Armando R. Villalobos confirmed that an assistant district attorney from Cameron County had died over the weekend. On Saturday, Cameron County Assistant District Attorney Arturo José Iñiguez, 26, body was found in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico inside a vehicle and a bottle of sedatives was found nearby, according to the Tamaulipas State Attorney General's Office. Matamoros is adjacent to Brownsville, a U.S. border town. Mexican authorities and U.S. officials in a joint investigation are trying to determine the circumstances in which Iñiguez had died. In an initial investigation, Mexican authorities speculate a possible suicide and no signs of foul play was found. He was married and is survived by his 2-year-old daughter. He began his career as an assistant DA in 2007, according to Villalobos.
