A CNN and Opinion Research poll released Thursday finds overall, 46 percent of Americans have a favorable view toward American Muslims. One in four states said they have an unfavorable law. On the question of a neighborhood mosque, 69 percent of those polled said they would approve of a mosque opening where they live. Among those who live in cities and suburbs, that rises to nearly three-quarters of people. But, opposition is higher in the South. Half of rural Southerners polled said they would not beOK with a mosque in their community.
