I have a 1-wire network running on my raspberry pi (owfs v 2.9p0 running on
raspbian)
The master is a DIY board build around a DS2490 and an DS9053 (basically
this
(http://www.dgkelectronics.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/1-wire_adapte
r.png) schematic but with a MAX8873

The hubs I made are RJ45 ports (salvaged from a couple of old network
switches) with the corresponding wires connected. (cfr hobbyboards)
(parrallel connection)
Next to the hubs i also made 2 DIY prints containing 2 DS2423 counter
modules (layout cfr hobbyboards) On each board ther is a 3V backup battery.
For temperature reading I connected 12 DS18S20 and 15 DS18B20 of which most
of them are parasite powered (3 have active power)
The whole thing is powered by an 5V adapter

The layout is:

master -- 8 port hub ----- 12 port hub 1 -- counter module 1
            | | | \- counter module 2
            | 4 DS18.20 10 DS18.20 \-12 port hub 2 --- 5 DS18.20
            4 port hub -- 3 DS18.20

I am using utp cat 5e for all connection. distances differ

The problem that i am experiencing is that when i read the value of the
counters via the command line, owfs crashes sometimes (not always at the
same time). I can solve it by killing it and restarting
Next to reading the counters via the command line , i also have temploggerd
running. The crashes of owfs are clearly visible in the graphs.

How can I solve these problems? would changing the parasite power to active
solve it?
