That sounds quite good, I will give that a try later this year when I
start with the readings in C.
At the moment I have a bash script reading (which takes little over
1sec. to poll the 6 sensors) do some calculations and put it in mysql so
for the time being the logged info is enough, first get the tractor
running again... (remodeling our commonrail setup, some lathe work, some
work on the lubrication etc...)

One thing remaining do, is there a way to reset the counters after every
reading?
When running at full rpm the counters will count ~250-300 pulses per
second so after 1 hour (including heating up and so) they will contain
some large numbers.
