Hello! At this location http://tinyurl.com/8ng8af the Hack A Day site is considering the best way to talk to the DS2431 parts, and as usual getting it wrong.
They're using a Rube Goldberg contraption of theirs to do the interface. It had completely zoomed past their minds that Maxim and seven or eight others make excellent interfaces to communicate with the One-Wire parts. (I include those of us I know who've bought the USB one, and kits which came with the serial ones, and those of use who're building their one wire interfaces.) Naturally their software is properly configuring the device, but it's a worse kludge then any first program has a right to be, so I noted that on LInux there is the OWFS project for managing it properly. And of course their comments indicate several missed points, and one other right one. -- ----- Gregg C Levine gregg.drw...@gmail.com "This signature was once found posting rude messages in English in the Moscow subway." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Owfs-developers mailing list Owfs-developers@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/owfs-developers
