At this location http://tinyurl.com/8ng8af the Hack A Day site is
considering the best way to talk to the DS2431 parts, and as usual
getting it wrong.

They're using a Rube Goldberg contraption of theirs to do the
interface. It had completely zoomed past their minds that Maxim and
seven or eight others make excellent interfaces to communicate with
the One-Wire parts.

(I include those of us I know who've bought the USB one, and kits
which came with the serial ones, and those of use who're building
their one wire interfaces.)

Naturally their software is properly configuring the device, but it's
a worse kludge then any first program has a right to be, so I noted
that on LInux there is the OWFS project for managing it properly.

And of course their comments indicate several missed points, and one
other right one.
