A few things that look (but who knows, they may be normal :) )

The LINK seems to be identified as a LinkHub-E:
>>TRAFFIC OUT <write> bus=0 (/dev/ttyUSB0)
>>Byte buffer LinkHub-E v1.1, length=4
>>--000: 62 46 46 0D
>> <bFF.>

The branch.0 & branch.1 values on the 3 ds2409 are all set to true (1):
>> branch.BYTE 3
>> branch.ALL 1,1
>> branch.0 1
>> branch.1 1

Which does not match what the manpage claims:
"Is the branch ( 0=main or 1=aux ) currently connected to the master
bus? Value returned is 1 (yes) or 0 (no). The DS2409 should not allow
both to be on simultaneously. "
