I am now the proud owner of a raspberry pi, well should be shipped to me in
a couple of days. Been using OWFS for about 8 years now from a NSLU2 to
currently a small 2ghz Ubuntu server.

I am a complete NOOB when it comes to I2C adapters and Raspberry PI setup.
Can someone assist in the setup. I know I could just use a USB 1wire
adapter however liked the idea of I2C being hopefully smaller than the blue
USB hanging out the side of the unit.

Some quick questions:
Can you buy a packaged I2C 1wire adapter or do I have to try and find the
dallas chip, I do not need a specific pi board as I understand these are
probably still months away ?
Is it difficult to take the pi I2C drivers and install them ?

Those with raspberry pi already was wondering if the standard debian image
has RS232 support out of the box, sty is an available device.

Plan is to have
1wire for some temperature / humidity devices
RS232 TTL connection to the Atlas Scientific ph, ORP modules

there is now an i2c driver using the i2c hardware on the RaspberryPi rather
than bitbanging the GPIO pin.

Yep I'm still on this list :-)

For those interested people, you can find my latest I2C and SPI drivers for
the Raspberry Pi at:
