I have two twin PF 3.6.1 systems: one is standalone Centos 6.3 on a PC,
the other is the same Centos version under VMware. PF under VMware takes
some thirty seconds longer to start. This can be seen in the PF log:

Centos standalone:

Mar 04 14:42:19 pfcmd.pl(10587) INFO: saving current iptables to
var/iptables.bak (main::service)
Mar 04 14:42:19 pfcmd.pl(10587) INFO: Instantiate a new iptables
modification method. pf::ipset (pf::inline::get_technique)
Mar 04 14:42:19 pfcmd.pl(10587) INFO: saving existing iptables to
/usr/local/pf/var/iptables.bak (pf::iptables::iptables_save)
[***waiting 9 seconds***]
Mar 04 14:42:28 pfcmd.pl(10587) INFO: Instantiate a new iptables
modification method. pf::ipset (pf::inline::get_technique)
Mar 04 14:42:28 pfcmd.pl(10587) WARN: We are using IPSET
(pf::ipset::iptables_generate)
Mar 04 14:42:28 pfcmd.pl(10587) INFO: flushing iptables
(pf::ipset::iptables_flush_mangle)
Mar 04 14:42:28 pfcmd.pl(10587) INFO: restoring iptables from
/usr/local/pf/var/conf/iptables.conf (pf::iptables::iptables_restore)

Centos under VMware:

Mar 04 14:43:03 pfcmd.pl(3114) INFO: saving current iptables to
var/iptables.bak (main::service)
Mar 04 14:43:03 pfcmd.pl(3114) INFO: Instantiate a new iptables
modification method. pf::ipset (pf::inline::get_technique)
Mar 04 14:43:03 pfcmd.pl(3114) INFO: saving existing iptables to
/usr/local/pf/var/iptables.bak (pf::iptables::iptables_save)
[***waiting 44 seconds***]
Mar 04 14:43:47 pfcmd.pl(3114) INFO: Instantiate a new iptables
modification method. pf::ipset (pf::inline::get_technique)
Mar 04 14:43:47 pfcmd.pl(3114) WARN: We are using IPSET
(pf::ipset::iptables_generate)
Mar 04 14:43:47 pfcmd.pl(3114) INFO: flushing iptables
(pf::ipset::iptables_flush_mangle)
Mar 04 14:43:47 pfcmd.pl(3114) INFO: restoring iptables from
/usr/local/pf/var/conf/iptables.conf (pf::iptables::iptables_restore)

This is repetitive behaviour. What could be a reason of the delay?
