If the machine account couldn't be created in your AD for any reason starting ntml-auth-api makes no sense, because it relies on the machine registration.

You'll need to debug the failure of the machine registration first and make sure that your AD is listed already when you reload/re-enter the page listing the Active Directories.

The registration might fail, because any part of the information you provided contained characters that are not save to use in a shell if not escaped or surrounded by "". There's an open bug about this problem https://github.com/inverse-inc/packetfence/issues/8013 that is about to be fixed.
