I'm having trouble figuring out the git format-patch at 3:00am so I just did a 
git diff...

I apologize for the delay. I didn't know that makepkg freeze was started yet. 
This patch covers the half of makepkg

Replaces [ with [[ and (( and updates the syntax inside the [[ or ((, mainly 
dropping quotes, dropping $ inside (( and replacing stuff like -a with &&, -o 
with || etc
