Ah! that may be part of the problem as that Total Recorder driver is a real pain in the bum sometimes (well most of the time in my experience) so you're better of bypassing that completely.

Set your lines of recording to use the mixer controls (that is the controls you set from the volume control of Windows) rather than through the "MIXER THROUGH TOTAL RECORDER" setting to start with.

Sorry, should have thought of that, I'm not at all surprised if people have trouble recording from Skype etc through the Total Recorder driver, plays all sorts of wonderful games and tricks when I'm using broadcast software etc.
