That's a fair question and the answer is that you may not need an  
Imic if you already have a sound card however, the Imic I have to say  
leaves the quality of the SB Live etc way behind so for the Price?  
Well that may be worth considering.
The other great thing about the Imic is that it just works on a  
Windows box or a Mac, no drivers required at all so its great! if  
you're installing speech with Windows and you need to use that  
Windows Utility Manager, you can move it between computers as it just  
plugs into a USB port and now I come to think of it, its nice to be  
able to access the Imic to say remove plugs or change them, try doing  
that with a sound device in a computer when your computer is  
installed in a computer desk and see how long that all takes <smile>.
