Hi, If you select the "Direct Sound output" as the winamp output plugin you can control the volume controls for speech and Winamp independently. Also, make sure that the EQ isn't turned on and with the pre-amp lowered substantially. To do this, press alt plus g, control tab to the EQ window and press the letter n to disable the EQ.
