In fact, I find that _none_ of the buttons work!

Hello Tom,
Here are the steps to do that.
#1. Launch Switch.
#2. Tab over to the open button and hit either space bar or inter on it.
#3. Tab over to the folder you have the file in and highlight it.
#4. Tab over to the options menu.
#5. You will see a combo box that has the different bit rate settings in it.
There are 17 of them you can choose from.
#5. Scroll up or down to the one you want.
#6. Tab over to the ok button and hit either space bar or inter on it.
#7. Tab over to the convert button and hit either space bar or inter on it.
And there you are!
If this doesn't work, please let us know, and we'll try and help you figure
it out.
My best regards.
 John.

Hello Tom,
What kind of a file are you trying to change the bit rate of?
 John.

Hello Rob and list: Oh I agree wholeheartedly with you; this is exactly the
route I chose to remove it! But somehow..it insisted that I couldn't
uninstall it because..as it put it "Someone else is using this program!" I
still haven't figured that one out yet (the only one who uses this thing is
me)..but I decided to just "shut down"..then start over; that helped a lot!
Am still wondering if Switch can be used to change bit rates! If not, then
maybe I don't need it as Total Recorder can convert files..and can also
change bit rates; only thing I see with Total Recorder is..not sure it will
allow me to raise it higher or lower it where I need to!

Hi Tom and list.

I agree with Jörgen that the best way to uninstall an app is via the
"add/remove programs" option in Windows CTRL panel. While even this software
de-installation process may leave traces of program code in the Windows
registry, the process is usually smoother and less problematic than using
the program's uninstall component. Not to be cynical, but think of it this
way. The software developer is not necessarily going to make it easy for a
dissatisfied customer to get rid of his/her/its prized software app.

Best regards

Hello tom!
well, I have been in to this before my self, so once I was tired of that
kind of trial expention. but one friend of mine told me that once you have
installed the Switch converter, you can also go in to the controll panel, go
to add and remove programs, go to the Switch program aplication, then
uninstall.
when you're in that uninstall option, you have 2 choices, the first one is
uninstall, and the second one is downgrade to the free version, this means
that youdon't have to be worry about the trialversion anymore, and you can
use it as long as you like.
hope this helps.

Jörgen Hansson!

Subject: Problems With Switch

Hello list: Hopefully this won't be too long of a post..but I'm confused and frustrated at this point! As you may recall, I downloaded the Switch sound converter to my computer. I haven't used it that much..but I apparently mistakenly have gotten the "paid" version! This isn't what I wanted; anyhow..the "trial" time period elapsed! A few minutes ago, I tried to use it and it let me know that I had to "register it and pay..which I don't want to do as I had understood it was "free!" So I figured I'd try to uninstall all the extra stuff..you know..Sound Recorder and something else that I don't remember; that went okay! Aw..but now when I try to uninstall "Switch"..(was going to uninstall (then go and reinstall "switch" without the extras..but..oh no! It tells me it cannot be uninstalled because, someone on my computer is using the program NOBODY IS USING THE DAMMED PROGRAM BUT ME! So can somebody please tell me how to get around this? I think I would like to use the pr ogram as I have a file I want to change the bit rate on (Total Recorder" doesn't seem to be allowing me to set it to a bit rate that will allow it to play where I want it to)..anyhow..this doggone ""Switch"..makes me want to "Switch" it off! Thanks for reading what has turned out to be a kind of long post; hopefully you won't mind!
