You can if you want to but the default manual of 50 is good enough for most recording applications, you can raise or lower the manual level and monitor it or you can turn the Auto Level function on which is really quite affective.

Does anyone else have one of these wonderful devices and if so do you
have the AC power adapter for same?

I'm curious, where does the adapter plug in? We cannot get them out here
in Australia so I'm going to have to find a substitute somehow.

Does anyone know what voltage the thing is?
