Pairing Boes soundlink with Iphone 4-s

Does anyone on the list own a Bose Soundlink Bluetooth speaker? if so have you 
paired it with an Iphone 4-s? My step daughter can pair the speaker with her 
Ipad four, gut not with the Iphone 4-s. this seems kind of strange to me 
because both products are made by Apple, and the A2Dp protocol is used.
