I'm a VLC user myself - both Windows and Mac - but have kept a low profile in this discussion as I don't use Window-Eyes these days, I'm a NVDA user and I have no problems with the Software /though I did tweak the Interface settings a little for my personal liking.

Hi. I am having a couple of problems using vlc with Window-eyes. I
don't see the time, either elapsed or total in the window while I am
playing something and if I try to jump to a specific time, I seem never
to be able to get out of that window -- there is something called enter
go, but pressing that seemingly does nothing, same with "enter cancel"

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it. The question is:
How do
you spend it?
