Registry settings don't work, I've tried them all. The only way to fix this inexcusable problem that M$ has introduced into their browsers since 5.01 SP1, is "autosizer". http://www.southbaypc.com/AutoSizer/ It will automatically maximize all browser windows and bring them to front. What I'd like to know, is how you had this problem fixed a month ago! Possibly since then, you made a browser window REALLY small, and IE remembered it. It may work to change your res settings higher, find the window, drag it to center, then drag the edges of the window to their max, center the window again, put res settings back, double click the title window, and they may put things back the way they were. However they still will not open maximized, only "pseudo maximized". For a true maximized window (where you no longer see the 'square' upper right, you see the double square instead), you need an app like this. This app was not needed with IE 5.01 SP1; all windows with it open maximized. Since SP2 and later, MS screwed that up and a program like this is needed.
Only drawback to that program is it has to be running all the time in the background, but you can hide the icon from the system tray. If anyone knows of a way to get IE back to the 5.01 SP1 days without having to use a program like this, I'm sure millions would like to know how. Again, I've tried dozens and dozens of registry hacks, and none work, nor did tweakui, or xteq, or similar. -Clint God Bless Us All Clint Hamilton, Owner Want to exchange links with us? http://OrpheusComputing.com © ----- Original Message ----- From: "Thomas Fisher" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I have a problem that has been plaguing me now for about a month, and all attempts to locate the problem haven't had any results. When I surf, I often open new windows by using either the right mouse click> Open In New Window or Shift Click to do the same. When I do so now, it still opens the new window, but it is minimized, and does not take the "top level" so to speak. I have attempted to locate the registry settings, after attempts at using XTEQ and resetting IE to use the default settings, and still cannot get the desired results. I still have to maximize each window to view it. And when minimizing it, it minimizes to one that is not visible (I see the window kind of fly off to the top left side of the screen if that makes any sense). Could it be that the window might be positioned just off screen when reduced? To be honest, I have noticed a few pop up windows opening off on the right side of the screen, with only maybe a half inch of so visible at times. So I'm not really sure it that has anything to do with it. (I guess I'm still trying to troubleshoot while I write this) Anyone that has any additional ideas, please let me know, as my hair is already too short to get a good grasp and pull it out. ;) Thanks all, Thomas ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
