That's exactly because of phase alignment when combining the granules of sound. You have two [vd~] and a cross-fader, and whenever the cross-fading happens, an harmonic might be partially cancelled, giving some kind of trémolo effect.

So, it's another manifestation of the same problem we were talking about last time (freezing a spectrum...). And I know even less how to solve it.
