I give up. I had always looked at a snowflake and thought, among other things, "Oh, that many!" It's a little like children when they are young. "How old are you?" A little boy holds up 4 fingers. I understand. I suppose that now a days we can only refer to "Mother Nature" if we are joking. To anthropomorphize our universe (out of some sense of awe before it's grandeur and complexity, I suppose) is no longer acceptable.
