Steve,

These are useful and easy to install. The hinge on your back has a spring
loaded pin. Compress the spring, the pin retracts, and the back falls off.

The early backs on the KX, K2, KM, and LX were big bulky affairs with a 1.5 X
1.0 inch box on the camera back. With the ME, MX, and ME Super, these became
much smaller and flatter. I've used the digital databack for the ME Super
and Super Program and barely notice it on the back of the camera. On the
later series cameras, it is smaller yet.

The databacks print the date or time in the lower right corner of the frame.
This is a pain in the a** if you have just shot that once in a lifetime
sunset. On the other hand, if it is 5 weeks or 5 years after that cute
picture of your kid and grandma and you can't seem to remember where or when
you took it, it is a great help. You always have the option to turn it off
for each shot.

Regards, Bob S.
