Another lens worth considering is the older 12mm f8 fisheye made by
Sigma and sold under various brand names like Accura, Spiratone, etc.
145 degrees wide.
The image circle is 36mm. On a 35mm camera, the circle just hits the
middle of the two horizontal limits of the film. Plenty of covering
for the *ist D as it needs less than 30mm.
They sell for under 100$ on eBay but don't get there often. There
was a 8mm f5.6 also, surprisingly cheaper than the 12mm when they
were sold new. But it's double the 12mm price on the used market. I
would better trust the 12mm optical quality.
