Here are some Lanterns actually used in the villages.
Made from brass. The tank contains kerosene - a primary fuel
still used in cooking stoves, gensets, lanterns and unscrupulous
drivers of auto rickshaws - a 3-wheeler Taxi - who mix it with
petrol or what you call gasoline in the US.
These lanterns are also used in modern homes with an electric
bulb fitted inside them. Can be had for $ 7 to 12 each depending
upon size and intricacy of the design.
I had hell of a time getting the WB right due to the huge blue tarp
spread as a roof by the street vendor.
