Thanks, Frank. I find capturing snow tough as well,

and really admire photogs who do it well—like Anne’s photo the other day.

I don’t think I commented on it, but it was really great! Nice color and good snow capture.

thanks, lady - I scrolled back and no you hadn't commented earlier...
capturing snow is tough, but I got lucky with mine, at least in as much as being awake at the right time, not having wind in my face, and being able to wait for the passerbyes in relative comfort. I shot off about 75 frames . two hours later , the sidewalk there was totally clear - it had been easy to shovel as it was such light stuff and damp. Then another wave came through and another round of shoveling. But truly, it isnt bad at all on my street... today jsut a couple of inches and it's clearing now.

I especially love that shot of the cards covered with the building in the background which is such a Chicago building it could have been
on my street back in the 50's. And it certainly told the story. The
pretty trees could have been almost anywhere.

Stay safe in the coming snow! Cheers, Christine

I find it's sometimes hard to capture the actual falling snow but you had no
problem at all. :-)

Love your pix, especially the selfie.

Snow started here about a half hour ago. By the looks of things you guys are
sending it up our way.

Cheers,
frank

Hi PDMLers!

We had more snow today, and I stole about 45 minutes to head out and
take some pics. Nothing great, but it was fun to trudge in the snow
and play with my camera and newish tripod (which I love! thanks for
the recommendation, Godfrey!).

The Manfrotto 190CX Pro3 worked like a dream—so easy to lug around,
and it's just the right height for me.

The only weather sealed lens I have is the DA* 50-135mm, which I
used today, but I was really seeing wide and regretted I don’t have a
weather sealed wide angle zoom.

Normally, I don’t often take selfies, but there’s a funny one in
this small gallery. It’s at the end.

Hope everyone down south and southeast is well, and you have power.
It’s going to warm up here in Chicago in the next few days, so we’ll
have some melting.

Cheers, Christine
