Thanks, Paul, Rick, Ann and everyone else who threw in their 2 cents. I still don't know which I prefer. I was thinking in colour when I took it but I have to say the B&W worked way better than I expected. It is (as I think Bruce said) a bit menacing where the colour is a bit whimsical.
To me it's like they're two different photos. No preference, I think they each have something to say. Thanks all for your input; it has been most valuable.
