Yes, I agree. Those streets seem very "un-city". I saw it briefly (the
Acropolis, that is), from the Airport during a late night stopover. They
didn't have floodlights in ancient Greek times but it must have looked quite
impressive from below on a bright moonlit night.

The acropolis is one of the true gems of Western civilization, and you have
portrayed it quite well. The Plaka, at the base of the Acropolis, is a
charming neighborhood, much more enjoyable than the modern sections of
Athens, which are so beset by graffiti and urban decay.
