Recently would make sense. It’s probably seasonal behavior. I’m guessing that the bird on the left is passing food to the bird on the right, so she can take it back to the nest. They both appear to be females, but maybe only one has chicks? The one on the right appeared to be tired and sat there waiting patiently for the other bird to bring her seeds. Then she flew off.
