I still use Pentax for the same reason - it still does the job for me. I also appreciate the quality Pentax puts into its cameras. Over the past couple of years I've taught a few landscape photography classes and that has exposed me to other camera systems. Pentax stands out in several ways - the image quality (especially at at high iso),  the quality of the view finders, weather sealing, and the many sensor shift features (IBIS, horizon correction, etc.) all come to mind.

I have a contrarian streak and don't mind not using a mainstream brand. But I'm also not a brand loyalist - if something better comes along and changing brands makes sense, so be it. For the time being, Pentax is OK by me.
