Thanks Larry. The camera was giving me kittens last night. I've been using the Fuji so much I've forgotten how to run a K1, which is embarrassing. The GPS gave me an OK for calibration, but I suspect I should have done it again. I don't think it was tracking quite right. I wasn't getting the exposure times I thought I should have been getting before I started getting trails. Also, the DFA* 50/1.4 is not an especially good lens for this, as I have read on several night photography forums. One of my goals this year is to get some decent night sky photographs. I did discover a couple of cool features in the K1. Timed bulb exposures up to twenty minutes is supported by the camera, for example. I didn't know about this until I decided I wanted to try shooting night scenes. Also, my location seemed pretty dark, but apparently wasn't. I live pretty close to one of the dark sky places in North America. It's about a 3 hour drive from me. My intention is to hone my skills a bit more and then head out there for a session.
