You would like Riverside, there are several rail lines through town. I'm a
couple hundred meters from a passenger rail station, also a lot of freight
travels through the area. As to the weather, I'm pretty sure that there were
at least a couple of days last week that the temperature didn't even reach 35C.

Riverbeds seem to be pretty good at clearing themselves during floods.
