The Department of Economics at the University of Manitoba invites
applications for a full-time tenure track appointment at the rank of
Assistant Professor in one or more of the areas of history of economic
thought, economic history, institutions and political economy. The
appointment will begin on July 1, 2001, or soon thereafter, subject to final
budgetary approval. The successful candidate must have a PhD by the
time of appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor; candidates
whose doctoral dissertation will be completed shortly after July 1, 2001
may be appointed at the rank of Lecturer until the PhD is completed.
Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching and examination in
the core components of the departmental program, graduate supervision,
research, and service-related activities. The starting salary will reflect the
qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate. Letter of
