The primary areas of responsibility of the Development and Promotion Coordinator are: Direct-mail fundraising Major donor fundraising Magazine promotion Advertising As part of a team of one other business and three editorial staff, the Development and Promotion Coordinator works closely with a volunteer collective of activists and social scientists committed to social justice and economic democracy. Staff members are automatically members of the D&S collective and attend Thursday evening collective meetings, where editorial and business decisions are made. All staff members participate in planning and carrying out promotion and fundraising activities, and all share a range of administrative and clerical tasks in the office. Fundraising experience; excellent writing, computer, and administrative skills; creativity and enthusiasm; progressive politics; and some professional experience required.
