Dear Michael and Perl QA colleagues,

Wes Barris was trying to install one of my modules and encountered a dependency problem when Test-Simple-0.62 failed to make on his system.

I was able to get some additional details, but I'm not sure what advice to offer him. The problem appears to be in the t/sort_bug.t test, but the error messages aren't very revealing:

t/sort_bug................dubious
        Test returned status 255 (wstat -1, 0xffffffff)
test program seems to have generated a core
after all the subtests completed successfully

I had Wes run the make manually and verbosely:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]> pwd
/home/wes/.cpan/build/Test-Simple-0.62
[EMAIL PROTECTED]> sudo perl Makefile.PL

I also got him to give details on his perl (from the Redhat perl-5.8.5 rpm):
