I think that you want to define a CLONE method in your package, which you can use to run the appropriate boot routines in each new thread. See perlmod.pod Also, I've just realised that the perlmod.pod shipped in 5.8.7 is erroneous - CLONESKIP was only added in 5.8.7, not 5.7.2 as it seems to suggest. Nicholas Clark
