Dear colleague,

this beetle looks like Oligomerus ptilinoides, a Wood destroing beetle which is
common in the Mediterranean area. If you like to read more about this species,
please write back.

With kind regards

Hello again,
I would very much appreciate your help to ID these two insects.
The first three photos (no L1020119, L1020125, & L1020130) belong to the same
insect (different views) caught flying in the storage area of the museum. It
looks similar to the insects we found last year and were identified, with some
uncertainty, as Oligomerous ptilinoides (thanks to David Pinniger). The
current photos are much better and might be more helpful. The insect in the
fourth photo (no L1020138) was found some days earlier, in a sticky trap from
the same area. Does any one know if the second insect is a threat to organic
object collections? (I already know O. ptilinoides is...unfortunately!)
Thanks
